The
Desk of Master Caccavo, one of Padre Pio`s teachers... the wooden
table... the chair... the inkwell... if we close our eyes it
seems we can see little Francesco Forgione... sitting on that
chair, elbows resting on that desk, absorbed in doing the homework
given to him by his master, who stands next to him, watching
him write with paternal affection. |

We
can admire the statue of St. Michele Arcangelo, before which
the young Capuchin Friar Pio da Pietrelcina stopped to pray
many times. |

Amongst
the most interesting souvenirs in our Museum is the cot that
had the honour of welcoming the new-born Francesco on the 25th
May 1887... who knows how many times Mamma Peppa bent over that
cot to kiss her baby. |

The
towel that his fellows used to help him that time when, woken
by his cries at night, they found him lying on the ground with
his face covered in blood, viciously beaten by the devil with
whom he had fought to save a soul. |

His diaries..., notes written in his hand... here we see him
with his threadbare habit, the emaciated sandals and here he
is..., a man of pain... the shirt of the flagellation…, the
scrap of bloody cloth that he placed on his side... the half-gloves
to cover with gentle modesty those wounds, the signs of his
identification with the Crucified Christ. |

Here
we see Padre Pio the priest... the chalice that he used at Mass...
his personal one that was given to him when it was thought that
he had tuberculosis... the Latin missal.., the stoles... we
can almost see him wearing these clothes while he celebrates
Holy Mass. |
